West Bend underpinning and building a nanny suite

Minora and Christoph had a small basement in their semi-detached house. They wanted to turn the basement into a suite to provide a living space for a live-in nanny. We consulted extensively with them to understand different options and weigh the pros and cons of different approaches.

In order to give them an 8.5-foot ceiling, we worked with a civil engineer to dig and underpin the basement foundation. We added new drains, a bathroom, a bedroom, lights, a kitchenette, and a new furnace and ductwork.

What the Client Said About the Project

We live in the High Park area in a 100-year old home. We wanted to finish the basement. In speaking with a number of contractors who were recommended by friends and colleagues, we settled on Jacob.
