Liberating Space and Making it Safe
Veronique and her husband Guillaume live with their two kids in Bloor West Village in a three-bedroom semi-detached home. When they moved into the house, the main floor’s kitchen, dining and living room were divided and cramped. The floors and the stairs were worn down from over a hundred years of use. The stairs were definitely not to code and did not feel safe for their kids.
After we gutted the interior, we re-did the main floor from studs to finishing work. In the kitchen, we added new countertops, backsplash, plumbing, and sink. We re-did the stairs, added insulation, new windows, and doors. In the living room, we also built a custom bookshelf in the old brick fireplace.
