We heard about Oriel through 2 friends who did substantial renovations with them. They came highly recommended as honest, hard working contractors who did good work and stayed on budget.
As a result, we hired Oriel to do a major renovation for us over the course of about 7-8 months. The renovations included the entire main floor, including kitchen and living area with fireplace, and a new laundry area. In total 3 bathrooms were fully renovated, exterior work including new backyard, front facade, driveway, new stucco work and was all co-ordinated by Oriel.
Overall, we were thoroughly impressed by Oriel and their staff. Every member of their staff was extremely respectful, kind, hard working and did quality work. I honestly can’t stress enough that Oriel’s staff, and most of the subtrades, were incredibly kind and cordial. Definitely different then previous experiences we have had with contractors. Our site supervisor co-ordinated the timing of sub trades and for the most part, our project stayed on time. There were some delays beyond the control of Oriel, mostly related to supply chain issues, but for the most part, our project did stay on time and was managed well by Oriel.
I will also mention that our project more or less stayed on budget. Quite honestly, this was very impressive, especially given the circumstances of doing the renovations during the pandemic. I think one of Oriel’s biggest strength was their communication with us throughout the project. There were very responsive with emails. They were transparent about project obstacles and suggestions on how to overcome them. We never felt like we weren’t being listened to and they really did make an extra effort to make sure our project was completed to our satisfaction. Overall, we were very impressed by Oriel and very happy with the final result of our house. We would not hesitate to recommend them and use them again for our next renovation.
